The Laboratory for Coordination of Educational and Methodological Materials in Mathematics Education was established in accordance with paragraph 10 of Resolution No. PQ-4708 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 7, 2020. For the first time in the Institute's history, a laboratory has been established to conduct expert assessments of mathematics education, educational programs, textbooks, and other types of materials.
During the past period, the laboratory has been carrying out comprehensive activities in priority areas of mathematics education. Together with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, as well as the Center for Science Olympiads, a number of works are being implemented to develop mathematics education in our Republic.
The laboratory operates in the following priority areas:
- conducting expert assessments of mathematics curricula, textbooks, and educational-methodological manuals taught in preschool educational institutions, general education schools, and specialized schools;
- conducting expert assessments of mathematics curricula and educational literature (textbooks, study guides, and methodological manuals) of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions;
- reviewing scientific research works on mathematics teaching methodology;
- preparing students for mathematics olympiads and developing educational materials;
- developing educational-methodological and interactive materials.
Currently, the laboratory is headed by Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences D.A. Boytillayev. Additionally, leading researchers M.M. Barakayev and A.A. Akmalova, senior researchers G.I. Botirov and O.I. Egamberdiyev, and junior researchers A.F. Norjigitov and Z.T. Tugyonov are working at the laboratory.
More than ten textbooks and study guides have been published authored by laboratory staff.
Sh.A. Ayupov was awarded the "Shuhrat" Medal in 1996, the Order of Labor Glory in 2003, and the honorary title "Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan" in 2011.
G.I. Botirov was awarded the "30th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" commemorative badge in 2021.
D.A. Boytillayev was awarded the Badge of Excellence in Public Education in 2024.

Scientific Activity
Currently, the laboratory is conducting activities in the following areas:

Systematic analysis of problems related to teaching mathematics at all levels of education and developing proposals to ensure continuity and coherence among them;

Developing, discussing, and participating in the implementation of educational-normative documents and educational-methodological materials in the field of mathematics education in cooperation with relevant departments and centers of the Agency for Presidential Educational Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Preschool Education, the Ministry of Public Education, and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education;

Participating in the development of modern educational didactic, visual and handout materials, didactic games, and electronic educational resources for forming initial mathematical concepts for students in preschool educational organizations;

Developing proposals for improving the mathematics curriculum of general education institutions, preparing textbooks in simple and understandable language, and participating in the preparation of student workbooks and teacher methodological manuals;

Participating in the development of curricula, textbooks, and methodological manuals for schools specialized in in-depth teaching of mathematics, and providing methodological assistance to specialized schools. Assisting in organizing classes conducted by Institute academicians in Presidential schools;

Working closely with secondary specialized (academic lyceums) and primary vocational education (vocational schools) institutions, providing conclusions on their mathematics curricula, and developing proposals for creating textbooks and methodological manuals;

Participating in the improvement of training programs for mathematics teachers working in the systems of the Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education. Involving Institute scientists in delivering lectures at professional development courses;

Organizing and coordinating collaboration between higher education institution faculty and Institute staff in creating textbooks and study guides, lecture texts, collections of examples and problems, methodological manuals and instructions for specialized subjects in the curriculum of bachelor's degree programs and master's specializations in mathematics education at higher education institutions;

Providing mandatory expert assessments by Laboratory specialists for mathematics textbooks and study guides used in state educational institutions;

Coordinating the activities of Educational Centers organized within the Institute's regional branches and providing them with methodological assistance;

Organizing educational-methodological events (scientific-methodological conferences, seminars, competitions, exhibitions) on mathematics education at the Republic level;

Creating an electronic database of educational-methodological materials on mathematics education at the Institute;
