Uzbek Scientist Elected to the Committee of the International Mathematical Union

The regular meetings of the General Assembly of the International Mathematical Union (IMU) were held in New York, USA, bringing together leading mathematicians, heads of national mathematical societies, and members of the IMU leadership from around the world.
The delegation of Uzbekistan actively participated in the Assembly. During the event, Professor Umida Baltayeva, Chief Researcher at the Khorezm Mamun Academy, was elected as a member of the IMU Committee for Developing Countries (CDC). Her election represents a significant international recognition of the achievements of Uzbek mathematicians.
In addition, Professor Ravshan Ashurov, Head of a Laboratory at the V.I. Romanovskiy Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, actively participated in the discussions and held a number of meetings with international colleagues to strengthen scientific and institutional cooperation.
The General Assembly served as an important platform for enhancing the international visibility of Uzbek mathematicians, fostering new scientific collaborations, and further strengthening the global reputation of mathematics in Uzbekistan.
